Capt. VVSK Sastry appointed as assistant secretary general of BDMA

After a long gap of almost one year the Bulk Drug Manufacturing Association (BDMA) in Hyderabad has appointed Capt. VVSK Sastry as Assistant Secretary General to look after the industry affairs in the state.

Capt. Sastry who is a chemistry graduate had served Armed forces for several years and after his retirement he had served State Bank of India for quite some time. His close association with the Industry has brought him to BDMA to serve Asst. Secretary General. In his role Capt. Sastry owes to fight for the welfare of the industry as an untiring soldier.

With his diverse experiences and academic background, Captain Sastry is looking forward to take up various issues concerning the bulk drug industry with the government and regulatory bodies in the state for fast solutions.

With this new Asst. Secretary General post, it looks BDMA has abolished the earlier Executive Director post. Prior to Capt. Sastry’s appointment, PV Rangarao had served the Association as Executive Director for more than three years. During his tenure Rangarao had taken up various issues with the government and had succeeded in achieving positive results in favour of the industry. Among the major issues concerning the industry in the state are stringent environment regulations by PCB, delayed approvals by the regulatory authorities, issue of product expansions and licensing of products in brand names.
